Flight details bog-gig

This is a very long flight on the Airbus A320 NEO of more than 4500 km with an estimated flight time of around 6.5 hours. We choose the night flight which departs at 21.55 local time and arrives in Rio at 06:35 local time in the morning. The time difference from Bogotá to Rio de Janeiro is 2 hours.
check-in

The check-in and bag drop went smoothly and the check-in agent even noticed Chloe’s birthday and wrote happy birthday on the boarding card. A nice gesture! There are plenty of check-in desks and agents contributing to a good flow.
Aircraft

The flight was operated on an Airbus A320-NEO. The interior felt modern and fresh. Due to our Flex-ticket we got to choose a Plus seat in the forward part of the cabin. The three first rows are dedicated to Business Class and then starts the Plus seats. What surprised me was the very tight seat pitch of only 28″. That is tight!

my honest review
We arrived in Rio de Janeiro on time, even though we departed a bit late due to lack of ground staff in Bogotá (bags took a long time to load). The flight was uneventful and due to it being a night flight, most of the passengers were asleep most of the time. The cabin crew were friendly and professional. Avianca has a quite modern fleet and this Airbus A320-NEO had a fresh and bright interior. My only complain would be the very tight seat pitch of only 28″ in row 5 where we were seated. According to Aerolopa.com there are more spaceous seats further back. See the details here below. If you are tall, I would really recommend that you book an emergency exit seat.
- Rows 4 to 11: 28″
- Row 12: 37″
- Row 14: 38″
- Rows 15 to 16: 29″
- Rows 17 to 29: 28″
- Rows 30 to 32: 29″
