We travel to Corfu Town, the capital of Corfu, to find Corfu Town’s best food and sights to see.
As always, you can find our YouTube video at the end of the post. Check it out!

Corfu is well connected to Europe and Greece via the airport that is located next to Corfu Town. A 10 minute drive in a taxi will take you to the centre.

Corfu Town offers a blend of Venetian, French, and British influences. Its charming Old Town is UNESCO-listed and features narrow alleys, pastel-coloured buildings, and historic forts. It has a rich history and stunning architecture.

The food and drink scene is also rich, with great traditional Greek restaurants with fresh local ingredients but also more modern and trendy restaurants and bars.

Come along to see some of the great places Corfu Town has to offer.

Flisvos Greek Salad

1. Flisvos Restaurant

As number one on the list we have the restaurant Flisvos. It’s a seafood restaurant with great quality. The location is beautiful, next to the water and if like to watch aircraft landing at Corfu Airport, you can do that from the comfort of your table. Starting off with Greek rose wine and fresh bread. We ordered a Greek salad with a modern twist. And mussels in tomato sauce. Very fresh and well cooked.

Flisvos is famous for seafood and has a nice selection of fish in their display. They also carry a very good range of wines, including white, rose, red and sparkling.

Theotoky Winery

2. Theotoky Winery

After lunch we are taking our rental car and head to the next spot which is number 2 on the list. It’s Theotoky Winery which is located about a 20 minutes’ drive from central Corfu Town. Theotoky is an old winery and offers tasting and tours every day except Sundays.

We got the short tour and was shown the cellar and some good information about the winery. Thereafter we tested three of their wines. White and rose.

If you are a James Bond fan, they are also very proud to say that their winery was mentioned in the movie “For Your Eyes Only” from 1981.

A great place to visit just outside the city. They are friendly and knowledgeable people.

Mouse Island - Pontikonisi

3. Mouse Island (Pontikonisi)

We skip forward to the next day and number 3 on the list. It’s the Mouse Island or Pontikonisi in Greek.

You can reach the Mouse Island by boat or in our case we decided to rent a kayak and paddle there ourselves. Great fun and relaxing. The mouse island is small and has a small church on top. You get some great views of the surround area, the airport and coastline.

Dairy Shop of Alexis

4. Dairy Shop of Alexis

We head in to Corfu Town and as number 4 on our list is Dairy Shop of Alexis. The place is famous for it’s amazing yogurt and homemade butter. The Yogurt is served with honey on top and you can really taste the quality. They also serve Galakto boureko which is a a semolina custard baked in filo. Very tasty!

Of course we had to also try the butter, so the owner took the 25kg butter stack out for us and offered to try it during our visit.

A lot of famous people has visited this shop. Both greeks and international celebrities like Silvio Berlusconi, Boris Yeltsin and the Greek president Mitsotakis.

The sunsets are beautiful in Corfu and here a photo from one of these evenings in Corfu Town.

We finish the evening with a grilled sweet corn. Traditional and great.
